Emirates International Specialist Hospital and Pink Caravan hold free clinic on the Abu Dhabi Corniche
As the official medical partner of Pink Caravan in Abu Dhabi, Emirates International Specialist Hospital is providing both men and women breast cancer check-ups and Emirates International Specialist Hospital ’s physicians and nurses are screening approximately 40 patients, male and female, daily at the temporary clinic. With female physicians at the clinic, breast examinations are also done privately to women who come for check-ups.
“The earlier breast cancer is detected, the greater the chance of a full recovery which is why the Pink Caravan is such an important national initiative. Emirates International Specialist Hospital is proud to be the Abu Dhabi health partner for Pink Caravan in 2017 by providing breast cancer screening at the free Pink Caravan clinic on the Corniche for 10 days. If mammograms are required we will send patients to our hospital. We are also providing 500 free mammograms for this campaign so women who are not able to afford mammograms can be checked,” said Dr. Mai Al Jaber, Deputy Medical Director at Emirates International Specialist Hospital Abu Dhabi, Specialist Public Health Medicine.
“While awareness is much higher now than it used to be, our battle against breast cancer is far from over. We strongly encourage the public to take advantage of these opportunities as early detection is key to beating the disease,” added Dr. Al Jaber.
